Mark Christian Medish
Mark C. Medish has over 30 years of professional experience in policy, law, finance, risk management and strategic communications.
Medish served at The White House as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director on the National Security Council and at the U.S. Treasury as Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Affairs under Robert Rubin and Lawrence Summers. He also worked at the State Department (USAID) and the United Nations (UNDP).
From 2001 to 2006, he was a law partner with Akin Gump LLC where he led the sovereign advisory practice including debt restructuring. From 2006 to 2009, he was a senior scholar and vice president at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. From 2011 to 2015, he was president of the international private equity and advisory division of Guggenheim Partners LLC, an investment firm with over $200 billion AUM. From 2015 to 2021, he was president of The Messina Group, a strategic advisory firm.
As of September 2021, Medish is a director of Project Associates Ltd., a London-headquartered strategic communications firm. He serves on several corporate advisory boards including Miami-based 777 Partners, an international alternative investment company.
Medish is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He was educated at Georgetown (B.S.F.S), Harvard (A.M., J.D.), and Oxford (Merton College). His languages include Russian, German and Danish.
Daniel Lucich
Daniel brings decades of experience to clients in international affairs, strategic, political, and legal analysis, trade & investment, financial & regulatory policy and compliance, sovereign advisory, technology, and international capital markets.
He was formerly a senior advisor at the financial services firm Guggenheim Partners working on innovative cross-border transactions in Asia, Europe, and the Americas. He also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for International Trade and Investment and advised the Treasury Secretary on issues related to US investment policies, including the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), the WTO, North American trade, bilateral trade agreements, agricultural negotiations, and sanctions. He worked for several years as an attorney in private practice at major law firms in Washington, London, and Brussels.
He received his B.A. from the University of Chicago, an MPP from the University of Michigan, and his J.D. from Yale Law School. Daniel is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
Jonathan M. Winer
Jonathan M. Winer has been a journalist, litigator, Senate counsel, investigator, diplomat, regulatory lawyer, international consultant, expert witness, and authority on legal issues involving the transit of information, goods, services, and people across national borders.
He provides strategic counsel and solutions for domestic and international clients faced with complex cross-border compliance and enforcement issues affected by the political, policy and legal decisions that are made in Washington, D.C.
His clients have included governments, multilateral organizations, financial institutions, companies facing crises and people seeking practical strategic counsel on law and policy. His work has taken him from the United States to Canada, Latin America, Europe, the former Soviet Union, the Middle East, North Africa and East Asia.
